UNIVERSITYOFWAIKATOFEESANDCOSTS2011
InternationalstudentsarerequiredbyImmigrationNewZealandtopre-payoneyear’stuitionfeestotheUniversityofWaikatoinordertobegrantedastudentvisa.Feesmustbepaidforeachcourseastudentisenrolledin.
TheUniversityofWaikatochargesfeesonthebasisofyourcourseenrolmentratherthanbyprogramme.ThefeesforcoursesvarybetweenSchool/FacultyandsometimeswithinaSchool/Faculty.
EachcourseofferedattheUniversityhasapoint’svaluethatindicatesitsweightingwithinyourprogramme,andyourfeeswillbecalculatedintermsofthetotalnumberofpointsofyourenrolment.Mostcoursesatundergraduatelevelareworth15or20pointsandthestandardfull-timeloadis120pointsperyear.

Duringeachyearoffulltimestudy,astudentwillenrollinanumberofcourses.Eachcourseisworthanumberof“points.”Afull-timestudentworkloadis120pointsperyear.Actualfeesfordegree,diploma,andcertificateprogrammesarechargedonaper-coursebasissowillvarydependingonactualnumberofcoursesselectedattimeofenrolment.
Sothatyoucanestimateyourannualtuitionfees,wehavedisplayedtheapproximateamountoftuitionfeesthatwillbepayableeachyearforafull-timestudentworkloadof120points.
Tuitionfeesareforastudentworkloadof1EquivalentFullTimeStudent(EFTS)whichisnormallytwosemesters.Astudentenrollinginmorethantheregularfull-timestudentworkloadwillberequiredtopayadditionaltuitionfees.
Inadditiontotuitionfees,allstudentsarerequiredtopayanannualfeeforanumberofuniversityservices.(Buildinglevy,U-LeisureServices,WaikatoStudents’UnionFee,StudentServicesLevy).Theactualamounteachstudentpaysdependsontheirenrolment,butmostfull-timestudentswillberequiredtopayapproximatelyNZ$400peryear.Thisfeeispaidatthetimeofenrolment.
AllfeesarequotedinNewZealandDollars(NZ$)andincludeNewZealandGoodsandServicesTax(GST).Feesaresubjecttochange.
